Focal Lengths and Different ViewPoints

The first image was taken with a 70-300mm lens set at 300mm.

The second was taken with a 24-70mm lens set at 24mm

The first image compresses the foreground and the sense of depth is less. Individual parts (windows, doors) appear smaller and there remains the sense that the building is further away than in the second image.

The second image shows more of the foreground particularly the patio and objects in the foreground of the image are more prominent. Building appears much nearer but elements such as the building on the left edge of the picture appear (a house next door) whilst other parts cannot be seen. For example see first image where there is a building whose roof height is lower than the main building. This building cannot be seen in the second image.

In trying to get the two images as close as possible the use of the wide angled lens (24mm) made it impossible despite moving up and down the central line of the two images.
